Sonu Nigam Sings For 'Saguni'

Prakash is, at the moment, readying the music bytes for 'Saguni' which sees Karthi Sivakumar and Pranitha in the lead roles. GV Prakash has the credit of signing various singers belonging to different genres for his film albums. This time there are reports that he is done with a song featuring Sonu Nigam. The recording is believed to have taken place in Mumbai.

'Saguni' is a political satire with a number of twists and turns as well as with a good dose of comedy. The film is a maiden product of Shankar Dayal Sharma who will be joining the directorial stream in Tamil cinema with this film. GV is taking special care that the music of 'Saguni' out shines the music album he did for 'Aayirathil Oruvan,' a film were Karthi and GV worked together in previously.

It might be noted that a single audio song from GV'S music album of 'Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal' was launched recently. The song is slowly catching up with the youngsters. This film also has lyricist Thamarai penning the lyrics for the music director for the first time ever. Thamarai's association with GV's uncle ARR has churned out chartbusters. We hope GV will be able to repeat the trend in his music albums too!

GV Prakash is riding high on a success wave. With soulful tunes the young music director has secured a firm and comfortable niche in the hearts of music lovers. The music of 'Mayakkam Enna' which released recently is a success with the music lovers in the state. GV has made Dhanush croon a song in the film which has sure swept the youth of the state and left the youth yearning for more.

Sonu Nigam Creates A Song For World Heart Day

Hariharan, Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Anoushka Shankar and composer Shamir Tandon will collaborate to create Calm Song, a stressbuster of a ditty on the occasion of World Heart Day today.
This is an initiative along with Billion Hearts Beating, an initiative of Apollo hospitals. Says Shamir, "While stress is a reality, we wanted to create a song that would relax people and remind them to enjoy life in spite of it." The week-long, nationwide activations culminate in a Happy Heart Fest, which involves five celebrity crusaders.

Sonu Nigam Wishes Lataji A Happy Birthday

Mumbai: Describing her as the "Goddess of music" and an "inspiration", several Bollywood singers as well as actors wished the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar good health on her 82nd birthday today.

Singer Sonu Nigam said, "I wish her very happy birthday filled with loads of love and care. I think it is our fortune to take birth in the times of Lataji. She is an inspiration for me and will always continue to inspire several other generations."

"I wish Lataji a very happy birthday. She is the Goddess of music. She is not only an inspiration to me, but to everyone. On this beautiful occasion, I wish her good health and many more wonderful and beautiful years ahead," playback singer Sunidhi Chauhan told PTI.

"For me, Lataji is next to God. I feel, music is alive today only due to her. I am fortunate enough to have sung songs with her," Abhijeet Bhattacharya said. Abhijeet got the opportunity to sing with the melody queen like `Darwaza Band Karlo` (Darr) and `Ole Ole`, `Lagi Lagi Hai` (Yeh Dillagi).

"Lataji meri bahut pyaari hai (Lataji is very sweet). I know her for a long time...our association is very old. Even if I don`t say anything, Lataji knows that I love her and will wish all the good in life," evergreen star Dev Anand said. "Lataji has been a significant entertainer, not only for our countrymen, but everyone across the globe. We all love her a lot...If I get a chance, I would meet...and wish her," superstar Shahrukh Khan said.

After that Puneeth Rajkumar did Jakie with Director Suri. Now Puneeth Rajkumar is in shooting of the Director K.Madesh new movie Hudugru Remake of Tamil Movie Nadodigal.

Yograj Bhat now titled Paramathma for his new film and Puneeth Rajkumar is in lead and as usual Ananth Nag and Rangayana Raghu are in lead. There are three heroins in the movie and for that roles Yograj Bhat selected Nidhi Subhaiah and Andrita Ray and Deepa Chari . This is second movie for Deepa Chari in kannada film industry, first film is in production stage

Sonu Nigam Prays ForJagjit Singh's Speedy Recovery

Jagjit Singh's Bollywood colleagues like singers Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal as well as friends like actors Amitabh Bachchan and Anupam Kher have wished a speedy recovery for the ghazal maestro, who is critical after undergoing surgery for brain haemorrhage at a Mumbai hospital.

The 70-year-old singer was operated at the Lilavati Hospital Friday, when he was scheduled to sing with Pakistani ghazal king Ghulam Ali at a concert.

Sonu Nigam: 'We'll all pray for Jagjitji. We want his royal voice to grace our planet for many more years. God bless him and save him.'

Sonu Nigam Performs With Pyarelalji At The GIMA Awards 2011

Gurgaon, Sep 23 (IANS)

It was a sight to behold when singer Sonu Nigam recreated the 1960s by singing popular songs of the time with legendary Pyarelal of musical duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal. The legend was conferred a special honour for outstanding contribution to pop music at the Global Indian Music Awards (GIMA).
Sonu Thursday night revisited the retro era at the Kingdom of Dreams here as he sang some of the popular songs composed by the musical duo live with Pyarelal conducting the orchestra behind.
The audience swayed to the symphony of the live music as Sonu set the mood starting with songs like “Chahunga main tujhe”, “Sawan ka mahina”, “Yeh jeevan hai”, “Bindiya chamkegi” and “Parda hai parda”.
The energy levels of the audience went up as Sonu went on to sing high-octane songs like “Paisa yeh paisa” and “Om shanti om”. He later asked Shah Rukh Khan to join him on stage and shake a leg with him.
Pyarelal, who received a standing ovation, dedicated the award to all the people he has worked with.
“I dedicate this award to singers and musicians with whom we have worked with till now. We have worked as a team and it is because of them that we became Lakshmikant-Pyarelal,” said Pyarelal after receiving the award.
“I would also like to add that Lata-ji (Mageshkar) has played a very important part in wherever we have reached today,” he added.
Pyarelal also heaped praise on Sonu, calling him the most “genuine singer”.

Rafoo Chakkar, a suspense thriller directed by Prashant Girkar is the first Marathi film to be shot completely at the exotic locales of Mauritius. Girkar's earlier successful ventures were Isshyaand Sakar.

Renowned Bollywood singers like Sonu Nigam and Sunidhi Chouhan who has sung the song Beer ke dhakkan ka zumka banakeare lending their magical voice to the music of the film. The trio of music composer Alok Sutar, music director Abhijit Narvekar and dance director S Karthik will come together first time in this film.

An out and out thriller, the film has a storyline that is sure to make you jump out of your seats.

Sonu Nigam Sings For Breast Cancer Awareness

Sonu Nigam has composed a song to help spread breast cancer awareness.

He hasn't lent his voice to the song, but it will feature seven young female singers including Anushka Manchanda, Shruti Pathak, Akriti Kakkar, Shefali Alvares, Teesha Nigam, Shilpa Rao and Neha Bhasin. Says Sonu, "Yes I am recording a song, a special project for awareness of breast cancer, initiated by Devika Bhojwani. I have been asked to score music for the song, to words by Javed Akhtar. Since my mom is a cancer patient, I am open to doing anything to support the cause. So, when they approached me I immediately agreed."

The song Jee Le Tu Abhi is peppy, trendy, full of life and not preachy at all, he says. Devika adds, "When I asked Sonu if he would help he said, 'Devikaji I really want to contribute to it as I have so much respect for women. We are doing a big event in October which is the Breast Cancer Awareness Month."

Sonu Nigam At The Music Launch Of ‘Love Breakups Zindagi’

The hot actress Dia Mirza and the handsome actor Zayed Khan launched the music of their upcoming film Love Breakups Zindagi, in Mumbai.

The audio release of Love Breakups Zindagi seemed to be a starry affair as some of the biggest names from the industry were seen at the event. The guests present at the event included celebs like Sonu Nigam, Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi, Cyrus Sahukar and Salim-Sulaiman, along with others.

It was Bipasha Basu's desire to visit Lalbaugcha Raja this year with her mother Mamta, her manager Tanujaa Mehra, Madhuri (hairdresser) and Safar (spotboy).

The Times of India arranged for her to attend the aarti. She arrived at the venue at 8 pm, wearing a Manish Malhotra ensemble. Word of her arrival spread quickly and the security guards had a tough time keeping the crowd at bay. Bips was initially nervous but performed the aarti along with Sonu Nigam, wife Madhurima and son Nevaan. Sonu even sang the aarti.

Said Bipasha, "For the past six years, maa has wanted me to take her to visit Lalbaug Cha Raja. So this year I took a day off from work for her, as TOI arranged the visit for me. We braved the traffic and reached on time, but as I stepped out of the car I realised that there was a sea of people around us. There were a few scary minutes but somehow we got in. It was chaos, but once we were in front of the mangal murti all my tension vanished."

She adds, "It was a magical experience. Sonu Nigam sang the aarti and so many prayed together. The cops, armed guards and volunteers are doing a great job there. I will surely visit next year too!"

BIG Digital & 92.7 BIG FM join hands with Sonu Nigam to release a Marathi chant single on the occasion of Ganpati Mahotsav

Star singer Sonu Nigam joined hands with BIG Digital the digital arm of Reliance Broadcast Network Ltd and India’s No 1 FM Station, 92.7 BIG FM. to announce the release of his Marathi chant called "Kushal Chapalgati Nachtati Ganpati” which will be released as a single by BIG Digital at R Mall, Mulund where the Ramky BIG Green Ganesha has been installed.

This chant will be the opening track of the album ‘Ganesh Stuti’ which will be part of Sonu Nigam’s own music label named I BELIEVE MUSIC which he will be launching shortly.

At the occasion Sonu conducted the Maha Aarti of the Eco friendly Ganesha (made entirely of paper mache) following which he sang the above track for his fans who had gathered in huge numbers. All of them were left spellbound by his heartfelt rendition. He also sent out an earnest appeal to his fans to be sensitive to the environment while celebrating the festival.

What made the occasion really special was the fact everyone felt that there was an urgent need to create awareness on the importance of celebrating this festival in an Eco Friendly fashion, an initiative 92.7 BIG FM has been closely involved with for the last 3 years.

Sonu Nigam, Amir & Hirani's Gandhigiri Worked!

Day 12 of Anna Hazare's anti-corruption crusade got its fair dose of entertainment, with the likes of Aamir Khan, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani and Sonu Nigam visiting the Ramlila grounds.

While both Sonu Nigam and Aamir Khan crooned for the Gandhian and appealed him to break his fast, Raju Hirani put forth his message in a short and sweet speech. Addressing the audience, Hirani said, "I am a filmmaker and not a leader or a politician, so I can't make big speeches, but what I can definitely do here, standing on the stage is salute Anna Hazare, his team and all the supporters who've made this fight against corruption a national movement."

Hirani even expressed his amazement at the mass-movement being organised in such a peaceful manner. "We have seen so much corruption around us, but I never thought I would see such a movement against corruption in my lifetime. The way this movement has progressed peacefully and non-violently shows that Gandhi is still alive," said the director.

Quoting the example of his hit movie, "Lage Raho Munnabhai", Hirani said that when he first discussed the idea on making a film with Gandhi's ideals, many dismissed it saying that Gandhi is irrelevant in modern times. "People trashed my idea. They said Gandhi aur unke vichaar aaj ke zamane mein nahi chal sakte, par aaj unhi vichaaron ki wajah se hum sab ek saath yahan hai. Anna hamare naye Gandhi hain," shared Hirani.
