Sonu Nigam has composed a song to help spread breast cancer awareness.
He hasn't lent his voice to the song, but it will feature seven young female singers including Anushka Manchanda, Shruti Pathak, Akriti Kakkar, Shefali Alvares, Teesha Nigam, Shilpa Rao and Neha Bhasin. Says Sonu, "Yes I am recording a song, a special project for awareness of breast cancer, initiated by Devika Bhojwani. I have been asked to score music for the song, to words by Javed Akhtar. Since my mom is a cancer patient, I am open to doing anything to support the cause. So, when they approached me I immediately agreed."
The song Jee Le Tu Abhi is peppy, trendy, full of life and not preachy at all, he says. Devika adds, "When I asked Sonu if he would help he said, 'Devikaji I really want to contribute to it as I have so much respect for women. We are doing a big event in October which is the Breast Cancer Awareness Month."
