Big 92.7 FM India’s No.1 FM station and a radio initiative from Reliance Media World Ltd. organised the Big Mumbaikar Award recently to announce the winner of the BIG Mumbaikar contest. The star-studded event had prominent celebrities from the music industry as well as Bollywood and television celebrities like Sunidhi Chavan, Shilpa Rao, Sonu Nigam, Raju Hirani, Vivek Oberio and Priya Dutt amongst others who lit up the stage with their splendorous performances and support. The event saw the crowing of the deserving Mr. Devendra Desai as the ‘BIG Mumbaikar’ for his selfless work efforts.
Mr. Desai, who runs a 'Toy Foundation' works for the Right of the Child to play and aims to educate children beyond reading and writing. Among the others that were also rewarded for their path defying work were Mr. Hemant Chabbra, Ms. Akhila Maheshwari, Ms. Monica Batra and Shree Mansukhlal V Ruprelia who have all in their own way brought about a change in the society.
The event further witnessed alluring and scintillating performance by ‘The Blind Band Udaan.’ who enthralled the audiences with a spectacular performance. Eminent singers like Sunidhi Chavan and the brand ambassador – Sonu Nigam also mesmerised the audiences with their act. The entire performance left the audience spellbound and speechless.
The evening concluded with fun, galore and masti that spread the message of humanity and deeds of selfless help that brings smile on thousands of faces. Further encouraging all Mumbaikars to live up the spirit and continue the good work.
