Amar impressed American superstar producer Timbaland when she was featured on his album "Shock Value" and now the two have joined forces on Amar's upcoming release "Show It Off." This is Amar's sophomore album and she's pulling out all the stops as she has collaborated with a number of different acts. Each song has its own style and sound, and Amar's high yet controlled voice stays strong throughout the album. So is "Show if Off" worth all the hype?
What We Think:
"Show It Off' contains a wide variety of tracks. "Loye Loye" is the opening tune; it has a traditional sound and brings back familiar beats with a touch of Amar's style. "Bombay Billionaire" features Bollywood playback singer Sonu Niigaam. The song takes on a more hard-hitting urban beat, while Sonu's vocals soften the vibes. Also featured on the album is artist Shankar Mahadevan, who takes on the emotional track "Sajana."
But the collaborations don't end there! "See Me Girl" features Apache Indian who adds his reggae style to Amar's charm. We've heard four different sounds so far! "Show It Off" was Amar's first single and it features Rebel. This song is the epitome of an Urban Desi dance tune!
Amar truly shines on "Teri Bahon." The song compliments her high voice and the lyrics are sweet, not to mention the catchy beat. "Dekho Tumko Tarsa Naina" is another track with amazing lyrics and vibes. The album then round off with three remixes, giving us a diverse album with 17 songs!

Final Verdict:
Amar has a naturally high pitched voice, but she has great control. If you can't appreciate her voice, her music is not for you. If you do enjoy Amar's unique sound and style, "Show It Off" is phenomenal. The album has Bollywood sounds, old school touches, various urban styles, Middle Eastern and Spanish influences, as well as a dash of romantic ballads. With so many styles, there isn't a song that sounds like another and you never know what you are going to hear next.
Amar and Timbaland have created an album with a wide variety of sounds and vibes; there isn't a song worth skipping.

Amar shows off her new songs
TWO YEARS in the making and with Grammy Award- winning record producer Timbaland overseeing its creation, Amar's long-awaited second album is ready to wow audiences around the world.
The 27-year-old from Gants Hill sings entirely in Hindi on Indo-urban pop album, Show it Off, which features a series of high-profile collaborations.
Indian music star Sonu Niigaam sings Bombay Billionaire, which he also co-wrote, while Indian singer and composer Shankar Mahadevan shares the vocals on Sajana.
Amar, who grew up in Walsall and came to London in her teens, flew to India on Sunday to promote the album.
Producer/writer Jim Beanz has worked with her on it, with American singer and record producer Timbaland sharing his wealth of experience.
Amar sang on his track, Bombay, in 2007.
She said: "It's amazing, I couldn't have asked for a better mentor and person to work with on this project. It really adds to your self-belief to know he's backing you."
She added: "What we're trying to achieve with the album is quite different. It's not a fusion album. I don't like describing it like that because it's not something that's forced.
"It's two things - east and west - that have been brought together naturally. It comes from being second generation - being born here and coming from Indian parentage."
Her biggest musical influence is her father Mangal Singh, one of the pioneers of the UK bhangra scene.
As well as penning lyrics for the album, which was released on Monday, he recorded a duet with his daughter on the track Deewana.
Amar said: "I always wanted to stand on my own so it's very special that we've now come together for the album."
