Sonu Nigam Smashes It In Kenya Once Again

Over 3,000 people who attended Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam's concert at the KICC grounds last Saturday evening are still raving about the stupendous show that Nairobians have witnessed in a long time.

Despite this being his third visit for a performance, Sonu Nigam's show attracted an impressive attendance. Those who had seen him perform previously came to be dazzled once more and for those who saw the superstar perform for the first time could not stop gushing about the brilliant singing ability of Sonu.

After a couple of curtain-raisers, Sonu Nigam took to the stage with his all time super-hit, national award-winning track, Kal Ho Na Ho. He entertained the audience with many of his tracks from different Bollywood films, including slow and romantic songs as well as fast-paced numbers.

Blessed with more than one skill, Sonu Nigam's mimicry of other Bollywood singers was an instant hit with the audience. He taught the crowds how a song in Bollywood is composed using some pointless vegetable names like, 'Aloo', 'gobi', 'matter' and 'paneer'.

Despite a dodgy sound system which stabilised after a while, the singer performed for three hours non-stop, interacted with his audience and also got East FM's Jasmine Postwalla to sing with him! A special mention goes out to Sonu Nigam's tireless live band who contributed immensely to the success of the concert.

Sonu was stunned and speechless when, in the middle of nowhere, the audience sang him 'Happy birthday.' Later on, he posted on Twitter saying, "God, this was the best birthday party ever. Thank you Nairobi."

Alishaan Enterprises and Chase Bank Group, along with all the sponsors of the event, take a bow for giving Nairobi a rare pre-Ramadhan treat!
