Chhote Ustaad Moves To Pakistan !

Second season of 'Chhote Ustaad' to be held in Pakistan

The second season of kids talent show 'Chhote Ustaad – Do Deshon ki Ek Awaz' will be held in Pakistan next year, singer and co-judge Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has said.

"We will have young singers from India visiting Pakistan for the competition, just like the Pakistani children did for the inaugural show," Khan said at a Singapore press conference last night.

"We have established a platform in India for the show and it is now time to do so in Pakistan," added Khan, who was a selector and judge alongside Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam for the first season of the Star Plus show which wrapped up a few days ago.
Technical details were being worked out regarding the next season, including which channel would be airing the show, 36-year-old singer said.

The 'Ore Piya' hitmaker was in the city for a two-concert event, the second of which would be for the Pakistan flood victim relief. Khan was impressed by the joint hosting of his two concerts here by the Singapore Pakistani Association (SPA) and sponsored by Pakistani and Indian businesses.

"I am pleased to see how overseas Pakistani and Indian brothers work together here and wish to see the same in their respective countries," said Khan.

Talking about the new songs he has sung in Bollywood, Khan said he has recorded some 10 to 12 songs for yet-to-be announced films, the names of which he could not divulge.
"I am usually signing one song per picture," he added.

Khan's both concerts, today and tomorrow, has been sold out with requests for more tickets still coming, said SPA.

Speaker of Singapore Parliament, Abdullah Tarmugi, would be the guest of honor on the second concert for the flood relief victims, said SPA president Abdul Ghani Mohammed.

Profit from the concert as well as SPA's share of the profit from the first concert would be sent to Pakistan flood victims through Singapore's Mercy Relief, a government approved agency in handling such international help and aid, Ghani told PTI.

SPA secretary Imran J Nasrullah said he expected to raise more than SGD 100,000 for the flood victims from the concerts, which is expected to be attended by more than 2,000 people, some of whom have come from the neighbouring countries.

Besides being a social and cultural body of Pakistanis living in Singapore, SPA regularly contributes to relief measures to their parental country. It has already raised and sent through Mercy Relief SGD 66,000 for the flood victims in Pakistan.
