It was an ordinary evening in the studio for Sonu Nigam. It was an extraordinary one for Toronto based artist Parichay. He had the opportunity to spend time with his childhood idol Sonu Nigam, when the latter was in Toronto for a show recently. The interaction resulted in an impromptu video recorded in the car, on their way back from the studio.
Even though Sonu and Parichay have known each other for many years, this is the first time they had the chance to be in the studio together. Their story in fact traces back to many years ago when Parichay and Sonu's younger sister Teesha Nigam were partners in the Children's Antakshari show on Zee TV. They also happened to be part of an infamous incident involving the host Annu Kapoor, which Sonu writes about as part of the YouTube video.
"It was great catching up with him in Toronto and was so proud to hear all the great work he's doing. Teesha is doing some work for him too and was great to see she wrote the Hindi lyrics of his latest single 'She's a Player''', Sonu Nigam wrote about the video.
For Parichay it was a surreal experience. "I am speechless that Sonu Nigam liked my new song ‘She's a Playa' and praised it in the video," said the ecstatic Parichay. After all, only a few people have the opportunity to be praised by the musical genius himself!
