Sonu Nigam - India’s Youth Love MTV Roadies’ Rannvijay: Ormax Study!

Ormax Media has launched a study called ‘Character Youth Loves’ (CYL). The first edition of the study reveals that Rannvijay from MTV Roadies is the most popular non-fiction character among the youth.

CYL is a quarterly study and is conducted among 1,120 male and female respondents, 15-24 years, SEC AB, across four cities – Mumbai, Delhi, Lucknow and Indore.

According to Ormax Media’s study on the favourite non-fiction television characters among youth - Characters Youth Loves (CYL), Rannvijay from MTV Roadies ranks No. 1.

At No. 2 is Raghu, also from MTV Roadies. Raghu is clearly more popular among males with a 12 per cent popularity share vis-à-vis females, among whom his rank drops to No. 4 with a 5 per cent share.

Out of the top five most liked characters the top 2 – Rannvijay and Raghu – collectively hold 37 per cent of the total popularity share. However, the overall share of GEC characters is slightly higher at 52 per cent versus 48 per cent of the youth channels (MTV+ UTV Bindass + Channel [v]).

At No 3, 4 and 5 are Akshay Kumar (‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’), Sonu Nigam (‘X-Factor India’) and Hrithik Roshan (‘Just Dance’), respectively.
