If the performance is pure, it does grab the judge's attention. Sonu Nigam who is a judge on X Factor is known for his understanding of the finer nuances when it comes to singing. When a singer comes up with a good performance, he appreciates it whole-heartedly. But this week Sonu was so mesmerized by one performance on the show that he not only applauded it but also participated in it.
That was certainly because of the personal connect that Sonu Nigam had with the song. When the Deewana group on X-Factor sang ' Zindagi Maut Na Ban Jayee ' from the film Sarfarosh , Sonu almost went into flashback mode. He had sung the song when he was just 24 and the rendition also fetched him some awards.
So involved was Sonu by Deewana group's performance that he actually began humming the song from his chair and, after the performance, came up on stage to share his memories relating to this particular song. He was charged by patriotic fervor then which was revived on the show.
