The "Times Of India" and Govt Of Maharashtra sponsored "Saptarang musical concerts" at Mumbai's eternal Gateway of India amidst the Taj Mahal hotel background was definitely a lifetime of memories, both sad and happy.
The "wadali brothers" qawali on saturday(25-1-09) preached "Communal harmony" while Sonu Niigaam on Sunday(26-1-09) made some of us Anglophile's, total fans of "International English rock and pop stars"realise that Hindi music also has "Rock stars", and not only "Play back singers".
The 26/11 broadcast of the terrorist attacks on telivision , the loss of innocent and patriotic lives and the fact that the monument of Indian hospitality and luxury, "the Taj Mahal Hotel" exists akin to the monument of love on which it was modeled proves that civilisation has triumphed over terrorism and hatred.
Sonu Niigaam rightly ended the evening and the sentimental gathering with his most memorable and very relevant song in a music industry churning songs by the dozens, "KAL HO NA HO"?
"Economic Apocalypse and Terrorism" has really made everyone rethink the "Kal Ho Na Ho" theme and try to live life to the fullest before its too late.
